With a height of 83 meters, you will be awed by the natural beauty that surrounds it. The best time to visit Chamarel Waterfall is during the rainy season which runs between November and April.

  1. Eau Bleue Waterfalls – if you want to plunge into a crystal clear natural pool, then the Eau Bleue Waterfalls are definitely worth a visit. The waterfall is located in the central part of the island and is surrounded by a dense forest of eucalyptus trees. You can swim in the pools which offer a refreshing respite from the tropical heat.

  1. Tamarind Waterfalls – you’ll find the Tamarind Waterfalls on the eastern side of the island, tucked away amidst a tropical forest. The waterfall is surrounded by rocky cliffs, and the water flows into a natural pool that is perfect for swimming. While it is not as well-known as some of the other waterfalls in Mauritius, it is definitely worth a visit.

  1. Rochester Falls – located on the southern coast of the island, Rochester Falls is a beautiful and unique waterfall made up of basalt rock columns. You can walk on the rocks and feel the water cascading down the columns as you take in the surrounding natural beauty.

  1. Mauritius Underwater Waterfall – while not a real waterfall, this is a spectacular and surreal natural phenomenon that occurs off the southwestern coast of Mauritius. The “underwater waterfall” is an optical illusion of a waterfall created by the currents flowing around the island. It looks like an enormous waterfall cascading into the deep blue ocean, and is an incredible sight to behold. The best way to view this marvel is by helicopter or seaplane. While it may be a pricey option it is well-worth the spend.
