Itinerary

Day 1: Doha, Qatar

Doha is the capital and largest city of the state of Qatar. It is a modern city set to become one of the premier cities in the Gulf, however it has nothing of the hustle and bustle of a mega metropolis. There are some wonderful sights and experiences you won't want to miss. There are many museums to visit, however the Museum of Islamic Arts is the only one currently open. The museum houses artefacts from Muslim dynasties all over Asia, Africa and Europe. The Souq Waqif is another place that is very worth going is Souq Waqif, the renovated Arabic market quarter. You can easily wander around the maze-like corridors for hours.

Day 2: Dammam, Saudi Arabia

The discovery of oil reserves near Dammam in 1938 transformed this once small coastal settlement into a thriving modern city, now home to a major seaport and a wealth of unique attractions. Take a ferry to an artificial island, where you can enjoy bike riding or visit the iconic Khobar Water Tower. Explore the region's history at a local museum, wander through a vibrant market, or take a guided tour along the scenic coastline. Whatever you choose, you'll be immersed in a destination that's still off the beaten path for many.

Day 3: Manama, Bahrain

Manama is the capital and largest city of Bahrain. It is a modern capital located in the north-eastern corner of Bahrain on a small peninsula. As in the rest of Bahrain, the land is generally flat (or gently rolling) and arid. The Al-Fateh Mosque is worth a visit. It is one of the largest mosques in the world, capable of accommodating over 7,000 worshippers at a time and is the largest place of worship in Bahrain. It is also one of the top tourist attractions in Bahrain. The dome is currently the world’s largest fibreglass dome and is over 60,000 kg in weight. Al-Fateh includes the new National Library which opened to the public in 2006.

Day 4: Sir Bani Yas, United Arab Emirates

Sir Bani Yas is a natural island located 250 km (160 mi) southwest of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. It is home to thousands of large free-roaming animals and several million trees and plants. The island is dominated by conical mountains and surrounded by gently sloping coastal plains. These merge with a shoreline of mangrove covered sand-banks and hidden inlets, buttressed shorelines and a pretty harbour. A bird sanctuary as well as a wildlife reserve, Sir Bani Yas showcases nature through activities such as adventure safaris, kayaking, mountain biking, archery, hiking and snorkeling. The island also has a number of significant historical sites, including remnants of Late Stone Age and early Islamic structures.

Day 5: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Abu Dhabi is the largest of the seven emirates that compose the United Arab Emirates and is located in the oil-rich and strategic Persian Gulf region. It adjoins the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman. Abu Dhabi city is on an island located less than a quarter-kilometer from the mainland and is joined to the mainland by the Maqta and Musaffah Bridges.

Day 7: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Dubai is one of the most modern cities in the world; this city was a fishing and pearling village less than 50 years ago. The architecture of its modern buildings and sky scrapers is the finest in the Middle East. Sightseeing within the city center is split mainly between Deira, on the right bank of the Dubai creek and historic Bur Dubai on the other bank. Deira, is home to the best shopping and is the business and commercial centre of the city. Bur Dubai has less of a bustling atmosphere and is home to a number of tourist attractions, including the Dubai Museum, Grand Mosque and Sheikh Saeed Al-Maktoum’s House.
