Salty hair, sun-kissed skin and sand between your toes… everyone needs a dose of Vitamin Sea. Add on sunset cocktails, picture-postcard palm-lined shores and world-class surfing; in Bali, this is what a beach holiday is all about.

Bali has a wealth of coastline and a rich assortment of beaches, ranging from palm-fringed white shores in the south to the striking black sands of the north and western shorelines. So, pack your bags! Here’s where you’ll be getting your Bali beach holiday game on…

Seminyak

Epitomising the heart of Bali’s beach vibes, Seminyak features beach bars, 5-star hotels and restaurants along its 5km stretch of powder white shoreline. Yet, this beach still manages to retain a small-town atmosphere. It offers a gentler pace than crazy Kuta; take a peaceful walk on the beach, learn to surf, or laze on a sun bed.

Nusa Dua

Regarded as the top-end beach resort in Bali, Nusa Dua has a dazzling array of luxury hotels – most of which enjoy direct beach access. The beaches are top-notch and free of wandering vendors, while the main road is dotted with quaint restaurants and family-friendly entertainment venues to toast the sunset at the end of a beachy day. This is the ideal spot for Bali family travel.

Legian

North of Kuta and home to a sandy white and wide beach, Legion is regarded as a little quieter than its neighbour and more suitable to families. It’s bustling lanes are still packed with shops and cafés, but the tempo here is slower – and quieter, considering the vehicle-free path which separates the beachside hotels from the shore, (rather than a noisy road). Settle in at Legian for a relaxed Bali trip that’ll sure hit all the boxes!

Padang

Famous among surfers, Padang Padang is one of the only a few beaches along the craggy southern peninsula – but much more accessible as it’s an easy daytrip from the southern resort regions. Its surf-worthy waves are quite distant, making it a safe swimming beach. Plus, the saltwater pools provide great entertainment for tots.

Special mention: Kuta

Although Kuta isn’t the best beach in Bali, it is the most famous beach. Plus, it has an awesome waterpark called Waterbom, which features exciting water slides stretching across landscaped tropical parks. This is where to go  for hours of fun for the young and young at heart!
