If it’s enchanting scenery, fascinating cities and mouth-watering food you are after, then a holiday package to Germany is exactly what you need. Romantic sleepy villages roll into modern cities with all their original charm still intact. The countryside is impossibly beautiful with thick, dark forests opening out onto meadows, vineyards and verdant green hills that dip into rich river valleys.
There are so many places and cities to visit in Germany, your list will be endless! Visit Berlin for the art scene, exciting nightlife and rich history. For the home of Oktoberfest you need to head to Munich, although the city offers so much more than just incredible beer. Munich is also a wonderful cultural hub with over 80 museums to meander through. Get your fix of historical palaces and parks when you visit the city of Potsdam. Prussian Kings and the German Kaiser made Potsdam their place of residence up until 1918.
Once you’ve got your fill of historical and cultural sightseeing you’ll want to turn your attention to Germany’s gastro scene. Sample world-class cuisine and of course your typical German treats: pretzels, sausages, schnitzels and beer. Wherever you decide to dine, German pubs and restaurants have a wonderful sense of “gastfreundschaft”. This word describes a welcoming feeling of coziness and that of good people surrounding you. Sounds like a place we’d want to be!

Table water isn’t free. When offered water in a restaurant be prepared to pay for it and it will generally be of the carbonated variety.
