Attractions in Livorno include the Natural History Museum and the Aquarium, the Villa Henderson, which combines antique finds with modern educational tours, and also has a Botanic Garden. The quarter known as Nuova Venezia (New Venice), built during the 17th century, still preserves some of its original features. Particularly interesting are the Medicean Fossi, a network of navigable canals connecting the warehouses and homes of merchants which, like those in Venice, had entrances at water level leading to rooms where goods were once stored. Piazza della Republica is still admired today for its unusual architecture. It is in fact a bridge covering a long stretch of navigable canal.

Day 4: Cannes, France

Cannes is a commune in France, located in the department of Alpes-Maritimes and the region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Cannes is one of the best-known cities of the French Riviera, famous for the International Film Festival and the glitzy hotels, cars, beaches, and visitors. Cannes is 36 km from Nice, 55 km from Monaco and 60 km from the Italian border. From this elegant city, it's an easy drive to the other star attractions along the French Riviera. Enjoy the plunging cliffside scenery on one of the corniche roads as you head for Monte Carlo. Or perhaps visit Antibes with its lush, bougainvillea-draped villas, or the medieval walled town of St. Paul de Vence.

Day 5: Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain and the capital of Catalonia. It is located on the shores of the Mediterranean and enjoys a mild climate all year round.Barcelona is one of Europe’s largest and most successful ports and one of the world’s leading cities in art and architecture. From the modern cruise terminal at the docks you will need a taxi or tour to see the artistic beauty of this unique destination, credited to the talents of Joan Miro, Pablo Picasso, Antonio Gaudi, Jose Clara and others. Stroll the mosaic-paved Ramblas, the city's social hub, with open-air cafes, street entertainers and flower displays. See its unique Catalonian cultural heritage in the ancient Gothic Quarter, the surrealistic architecture of Antonio Gaudi and some outstanding museums. Sights of interest include the Columbus Monument, the Cathedral of Santa Eulalia (1298 to 1454), the Maritime Museum, Picasso Gallery, La Sagrada Familia (Gaudi's unfinished cathedral), Palau Guell (Gaudi mansion) and the Olympic stadiums.

Day 6: Palma (Majorca), Spain

Majorca is the largest island of Spain. It is located in the Mediterranean Sea and is part of the Balearic Islands archipelago. Like the other Balearic Islands, Ibiza, Formentera, and Minorca the island is a popular tourist destination. Palma de Mallorca is the capital city of Majorca and a major tourist destination. It boasts a magnificent Cathedral, an interesting historic quarter, Arab baths and Bellver Castle and museum. Its beach is also the most popular on the island.

Day 7: Alicante, Spain

Alicante is the capital of the province of Alicante, located in the Valencia region of Spain. It is an historic Mediterranean port ranking as the eighth-largest metropolitan area of Spain. It is also one of the fastest-growing cities in Spain, famous for its excellent weather and as a starting point for tourists to the Costa Blanca coast. With many historical buildings around the entire city, Alicante offers countless sightseeing attractions, from cathedrals to churches and of course a wonderful harbor area. Along the harbor there are beautiful long alleys for nice relaxing walks, enjoying the palm trees and the mild climate. Direct from the harbor area is a long wide sandy beach leading its way up to San Juan.

Day 8: Motril, Spain

Motril is a town and municipality on the Mediterranean coast in the province of Granada, Spain. It is located midway between the resorts of Malaga to the west and Almeria to the east and is the biggest town on the Costa Tropical. Motril offers beautiful beaches and a lively port. The town centre has many tapas bars and restaurants and the marina and nautical club offers a variety of watersports. Motril’s coastal strip has two main beaches; Playa Poniente and Playa Granada. Granada is only 40 minutes from Motril and is worth a visit to see the famous Alhambra Palace, the Generalife Gardens and the Hamman Arabic baths.

Day 9: Seville (Cadiz), Spain

The city of Cadiz is located on a peninsula protruding into the Bay of Cádiz, the Isle of Leon, separated from the mainland by a narrow and torturous channel, part of much larger Gulf of Cádiz. Very high and thick walls surround the city presenting a very picturesque appearance from the sea. Cádiz is of typical Andalusian character. The old part of Cádiz, commonly referred to as the Old City (Spanish Casco Antiguo), is shaped by the individuality of the various quarters (Spanish barrios), "El Populo," "La Viña," or "Santa Maria." These areas offer a marked contrast to the newer areas of town. While the townscape of the Old City is largely formed by narrow alleys leading into a number of plazas, newer areas consist of wide avenues and more modern buildings. In addition, the city is dotted with numerous parks with old giant trees supposedly brought there by Columbus.

Day 10: Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon is the capital city of Portugal. a lively and multicultural place. Pre World War I wooden trams clank up steep gradients, past mosaic pavements and Art Nouveau cafés, and the medieval, village-like quarter of Alfama hangs below the city's castle. Modern Lisbon has kept an easy-going pace and boasts a vibrant, cosmopolitan identity from large communities of Africans and Asians. In 1994, Lisbon was European City of Culture, while in 1998 the city hosted the last great Expo of the millennium. There are few monuments and little art in Lisbon, largely due to the 1755 earthquake. There is one building from Portugal's golden age – the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos at Belém – that is the equal of any monument in the country. More modern developments include the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian museum complex and the Tómas Taveira's amazing postmodernist shopping centre at Amoreiras.
