Itinerary

Day 1: Doha, Qatar

Doha is the capital and largest city of the state of Qatar. It is a modern city set to become one of the premier cities in the Gulf, however it has nothing of the hustle and bustle of a mega metropolis. There are some wonderful sights and experiences you won't want to miss. There are many museums to visit, however the Museum of Islamic Arts is the only one currently open. The museum houses artefacts from Muslim dynasties all over Asia, Africa and Europe. The Souq Waqif is another place that is very worth going is Souq Waqif, the renovated Arabic market quarter. You can easily wander around the maze-like corridors for hours.

Day 2: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Abu Dhabi is the largest of the seven emirates that compose the United Arab Emirates and is located in the oil-rich and strategic Persian Gulf region. It adjoins the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman. Abu Dhabi city is on an island located less than a quarter-kilometer from the mainland and is joined to the mainland by the Maqta and Musaffah Bridges.

Day 3: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Dubai is one of the most modern cities in the world; this city was a fishing and pearling village less than 50 years ago. The architecture of its modern buildings and sky scrapers is the finest in the Middle East. Sightseeing within the city center is split mainly between Deira, on the right bank of the Dubai creek and historic Bur Dubai on the other bank. Deira, is home to the best shopping and is the business and commercial centre of the city. Bur Dubai has less of a bustling atmosphere and is home to a number of tourist attractions, including the Dubai Museum, Grand Mosque and Sheikh Saeed Al-Maktoum’s House.

Day 5: At Sea

Explore life on board Norwegian Dawn.

Day 9: La Digue, Seychelles

La Digue is the third largest inhabited island of the Seychelles, lying east of Praslin and west of Felicite Island. Island residents mostly live in the west coast villages of La Passe (linked by ferry to Praslin and Mahé) and La Réunion. The island's main industry is tourism and it is known for its beaches, especially Anse Source d'Argent and Grand Anse. Veuve Nature Reserve, in the island's interior, is home to the rare Black Paradise Flycatcher, of which there are only about 100 in existence. La Digue's tallest peak, Belle Vue (Eagle's Nest Mountain), is also in the central part of the island, with a summit more than 300 metres (1000 feet) above sea level. La Digue is also visited for its wide variety of underwater creatures like fish, sharks and rays. One can go on a boat trip or a diving trip around La Digue for either one day or half a day. Furthemore, the Veuve reserve offers tourists a hiking trip with a guide who can show them the beauty of La Digue.

Day 10: Victoria, Mahe, Seychelles

Victoria is the largest town of Seychelles and one of the smallest capital cities of the world. The town is located on Mahe island, the major holiday island in Seychelles and shelters around one - third of the total population of this country. Victoria and all the places around the town offer excellent opportunities to involve in interesting pursuits. Most of the city has been rebuilt and except few buildings like courthouse and main post office, which still have the colonial character, everything has changed from the original outpost. One can visit the Natural History Museum or the National History museum for an insight into lifestyles of a bygone era. Other attractions in the city of Victoria include a clocktower modelled on that of Vauxhall Clock Tower in London, England, the Courthouse, the Victoria Botanical Gardens, the Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market.

Day 11: At Sea

Explore life on board Norwegian Dawn.

Day 12: Antsiranana, Madagascar

Antsiranana, formerly known as Diego Suarez, serves as a gateway to Northern Madagascar. This city strikes a unique balance between lively energy and relaxed charm. Between noon and 3pm, most locals take a midday break, and you'll find many shops and restaurants temporarily closed. But even during these quieter hours, the city has plenty to offer. Its streets are lined with remnants of French colonial architecture, many of which have been battered by cyclones over the years but still hold a certain beauty. Outside the city, you’ll discover serene beaches and lush forests to explore. Madagascar, renowned for its incredible biodiversity, offers plenty of opportunities for wildlife spotting—who knows what creatures you might encounter!

Day 13: At Sea

Explore life on board Norwegian Dawn.

Day 14: Pointe des Galets, Reunion Island

Pointe des Galets on Réunion Island will captivate you with its stunning natural beauty, from lush rainforests to pristine beaches bordering vibrant coral reefs. Part of France's Indian Ocean territories, Réunion is home to the towering Piton de la Fournaise, an active volcano that rises to 8,635 feet and offers a thrilling hike. When you’re not exploring the Bélouve Forest or relaxing on the sands of l'Hermitage Beach, take time to visit the Aquarium of Réunion or wander through the Jardin de l'État, a botanical garden that has been enchanting visitors since 1773.

Day 15: Port Louis, Mauritius

(Disembark) Capital and main port of Mauritius, Port Louis was founded by the French governor, Mahé de Labourdonnais, in 1735. The harbour lies sheltered in a semi-circle of mountains. The town has plenty of character, and shows off its past elegance. Off the Place d'Armes main square, there are some particularly fine French colonial buildings, especially the Government House (eighteenth century) and the Municipal Theatre, built around the same time. There are two Cathedrals, Anglican and Catholic, a Mosque, a Chinese Casino, a fine Supreme Court, some 18th century Barracks, and a Natural History Museum. The Central Market is one of Port Louis most memorable attractions. The restaurants in Port Louis and throughout Mauritius are quite diverse and the new Caudan Waterfront is considered by many to be the main tourist attraction in Port Louis. It has become the hub of the city with plenty of trendy shops, cinemas, restaurants and a casino. The Chinese quarter has plenty of little restaurants and food stalls on the street corners. It's probably the most colourful part of the city with its remedy shops and spice sellers. You'll also find the island's most beautiful mosque in this area. The Jummah Mosque was built in 1853 and has some fabulous teak doors and decorations, but it is only open to visitors at certain times.
